Merry Christmas

Some photos from Christmas Morning

Hope everyone had a lovely holiday. We enjoyed lots of family time, dog-sitting, baked goods and visits from friends. Above, you see my parents’ puppies chomping on tissue paper… even they got what they wanted on christmas day : ) And we enjoyed time with Brian’s family on Christmas Eve, the time they traditionally spend together.

Christmas Movie Trailer

My college roommate Max Kruemcke and I used to make “apartment movies.” Since Max is a tenured film student – and I say tenured citing his work for Backpack Picnic, Spy Kids 4, etc, etc – he always had cameras around. And honestly, it was fun to come home one Friday and make a short film with expensive film equipment without leaving the house!

We directed and produced four apartment movies. Their chronology:

  • Friday Night With Hannah Montana,” October 2008, the first and debatably most risqué installment.
  • The Reversal,” November 2008, the most famous of the four.
  • The Scariest Haunted Apartment Ever,” November 2008.
  • Carol of the Boom,” December 2008, the subject of this post.

Carol of the Boom doubled as my final exam for a film production class I took in Fall 2008 at Concordia University Texas. Strapped for time, I decided to make a Christmas movie trailer using “epic” thematic music. The result? A sarcastic, cheesy, hilarious entry. So here it is, two years later, as a special Cat and Brian holiday treat – enjoy!

First Thanksgiving

Our first Thanksgiving as “the Nunnerys” included two Thanksgiving meals – one with my family and one with Cat’s. When you have both families in the same city, you eat a whole lot of food! Here’s our first Thanksgiving shot together:

We hope you had an enjoyable holiday – and if you went shopping on Black (or Red, depending on how you look at it) Friday, I wish you a swift and successful recovery.

2010 Resolutions

It is officially…. our wedding year! 2010, that is. At first it was “that far off thing”, “not til next year”. That doesn’t apply any more, thank goodness! We are on the home stretch.

Maybe I’m exaggerating. We started with an 8 month engagement (despite advice to not exceed 6 months), and are now looking at a few days less than 5 months. But who’s counting? All I know is, one part of our wedding date is now in sync, and all we need to make this date complete is May 22nd.

Until then, our resolutions are to:
*speed up this wedding planning
*get invitations out (next month, hopefully!)
*exercise every day (that one’s just for brian)
*learn how to cook (that’s for both of us)
*resist counting down the days, because there are still too many (and, count downs are lame)

Happy new year! Hope to see you in May.

Merry Christmas!

Here’s our favorite photo from the holidays, for your enjoyment:

That is me as a sheep, in case you can’t tell. I’m wearing my favorite christmas present, a sheep blanket from brian’s grandmother. Amazing! But, we actually are capable of taking serious photos. Here’s another, which my dad edited:

Happy Holidays to you all! In the morning, Brian is flying off to Boston for an 11 day travel course around the northeast. Part of the requirement is to blog about his journey— follow him on briannunnery.wordpress.com.
